Labor’s win in the Queensland State election on Saturday confirmed its “safety-first” policy managing the pandemic and set it up for another four years of government with an increased majority.
Not long after 10 pm on election night the Premier, Anastacia Palasczcuk, was able to claim victory with at least 47 seats in the 93 member parliament – and six seats in doubt.

Lee Duffield wrote this “small tribute to all creatures” on the death of Crikey the Dog, his long-term writing companion, reasoning that something should now be written about him.
